Magh Mela 2026, the grand confluence of faith, devotion, and spirituality, will begin on January 3 at the sacred Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. The 44-day-long festival will start with the auspicious Paush Purnima Snan, marking the formal commencement of one of the most sacred gatherings in Hindu tradition.

Millions of devotees from across India and abroad are expected to arrive to take a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, seeking spiritual purification and divine blessings.

Major Snan Dates:

  • Paush Purnima – January 3 (Opening Day)
  • Makar Sankranti – January 15
  • Mauni Amavasya – January 18
  • Basant Panchami – January 23
  • Maghi Purnima – February 1
  • Mahashivratri – February 15 (Closing Day)

Each of these days will turn the sands of Sangam into a vibrant center of devotion and spiritual energy.

The Prayagraj Mela Authority has already begun preparations for the massive event, focusing on security, sanitation, accommodation, and traffic management. After Diwali, work will begin on setting up tent cities and building safe ghats to ensure a smooth experience for all pilgrims.

Magh Mela is not merely a ritual bath; it is a living celebration of Hindu culture, faith, and philosophy. After the grand success of Mahakumbh 2025, which witnessed over 66 crore devotees, Prayagraj is once again set to become the global epicenter of devotion.
