Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust has announced it will deploy multilingual staff to help devotees from across India and abroad navigate the Jyotirlinga complex more smoothly. The move is being introduced as part of a broader effort to bridge communication gaps, improve comfort, and enhance security for pilgrims.
CEO Vishwa Bhushan (Mishra) explained that devotees from diverse linguistic and regional backgrounds often struggle with instructions, timings, and procedures at Kashi Vishwanath Dham. To address this, the Trust has introduced an app‑based system that records basic details, such as Aadhaar and other required data, for those who book or avail paid services, such as Sugam Darshan and Abhishek.
Based on this information, pilgrims will be broadly grouped by region and language, and staff fluent in the corresponding languages will be posted at key points to guide them, answer questions, and help ensure a calmer, more orderly experience.
The Trust has clarified that devotees do not need to install a separate app or follow complex digital procedures; the system is run entirely internally by the administration. The database, which has already been used since 1 May, will also serve security purposes, holding verified identity information for a limited and controlled period.
The special arrangement for residents of Kashi—who enjoy free early‑morning and evening darshan through a designated entrance—remains unchanged and will continue to operate without Aadhaar or ticketing for local devotees, the CEO said.
By combining language support, data‑based crowd management, and streamlined identity checks, the Trust aims to make the Jyotirlinga experience both safer and more spiritually focused for millions who come to Varanasi each year.
