The Rs 50 special entry ticket system at Sri Chamundeshwari Devi temple, atop Chamundi Hill in Mysuru, has been restored after a temporary suspension due to technical issues.

Sri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority clarified that the ticket system has been resumed. K Vivek Gowda, an activist who had drawn attention to the cancellation of the Rs 50 and Rs 250 tickets before the Ashada month, said it is a welcome move as only Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 tickets were available for the past year, inconveniencing devotees. He demanded the reintroduction of the Rs 250 ticket also.

In an official press release, the secretary of the Authority stated that certain social media platforms had filmed the temporary disruption and were spreading malicious misinformation against the temple authority, causing unnecessary confusion among the general public and devotees.

“The entry format had been suspended due to technical reasons. All technical glitches have been resolved, and the Rs 50 special entry queue has been resumed to ensure a smooth darshan experience for devotees. The devotees are requested not to heed any ongoing rumours on social media regarding the permanent cancellation of the ticket,” the press note states.

The restoration of the Rs 50 ticket ensures affordable special darshan access for all devotees visiting the revered Chamundeshwari Devi temple.
