The Karnataka government has approved ancillary works worth ₹7.42 crore to complement the ₹604.65 crore Phase III master plan at Kukke Sri Subrahmanya Temple in Dakshina Kannada district. Minister Ramalinga Reddy confirmed the temple’s managing committee will fund these improvements from temple resources.
The comprehensive development includes seventeen works to enhance infrastructure for the sacred shrine. Seven projects will be executed by the Public Works Department through the deposit mode at ₹294.85 lakh, including concreting the new bypass from Arampady bus stand, constructing culverts, link roads, and laying interlock tiles with shoulder drains on key routes connecting Police Chowki, Devaragadde, Temple North Gate, and KSRTC bus stand.
Five works will be executed through Dakshina Kannada Nirmithi Kendra, while four public toilet blocks will be built by the temple committee through tenders. These toilet facilities address hygiene needs in the pilgrimage town, witnessing thousands of devotees’ footfalls daily.
The four toilet blocks will be constructed near Anagha Choultry at Adi Subrahmanya Temple (₹47.2 lakh), KSRTC Bus Stand (₹47.7 lakh), Kumaradhara Bathing Ghat, where devotees take holy baths (₹46.65 lakh), and near Bandimala (₹47.1 lakh).
Kukke Subrahmanya Temple recently registered an all-time high revenue of ₹167.89 crore in 2025-26, reflecting the devoted faith of Hindu pilgrims.
