Srikalahasteeswara Swamy Temple, revered as Dakshina Kashi, has quietly become one of Andhra Pradesh’s best-rated pilgrimage centres, recording a pilgrim satisfaction score of 72.7 per cent, second only to Tirumala. Devotees are recognising it as a kshetra where ancient Shaivite tradition meets sincere, modern seva.

Every day, worship here begins with prayers to Bhakta Kannappa, as priests ceremonially carry his deity from the Alankara Mandapam to Kannappa Konda, filling the temple with Vedic mantras and bhakti. The world-famous Rahu Ketu Sarpa Dosha Nivaran Puja draws thousands daily, including international visitors seeking Shiva Parvati’s grace for karmic relief and inner peace.

Pilgrims have praised faster darshan, better queues, cleaner premises, and more courteous staff, helped by reforms like transparent ticketing that allows 500-rupee ticket holders closer access to the inner sanctum. Local leadership has pushed upgrades in shelters, drinking water, prasadam distribution, and medical support, making the experience more dignified and organised.

Now, Srikalahasti is preparing to use AI-based systems for crowd prediction and wait-time monitoring, inspired by models used in Tirumala. If implemented well, satisfaction levels could easily cross 90 per cent.
