Marudhamalai Temple Bans Smartphones

Marudhamalai Subramaniyaswamy Temple near Coimbatore has banned smartphones inside premises from March 10 to maintain a peaceful darshan atmosphere.

No mobile phones allowed from the Rajagopuram entrance covering all areas, including Adhimoolavar sanctum, Subramaniyaswamy shrine, and Paambaatti Siddhar temple. The rule applies to calls, photos, and videos.

Temple authorities say phones distract worshippers during peak hours and festivals. Ban will help smooth the darshan flow and improve discipline among thousands of daily visitors climbing the hill shrine.

Pilgrims must switch off phones before entering the main gate. Staff is enforcing the rule to ensure a calm spiritual environment. Measure helps everyone focus on prayers without camera flashes or notifications.

Located 15 km from Coimbatore, Marudhamalai attracts lakhs for Lord Murugan darshan amid scenic Western Ghats. Forms part of Tamil Nadu’s important six abodes of the Kartikeya circuit.

Temple administration aims to preserve devotional sanctity through a smartphone ban, ensuring a distraction-free worship experience at the historic Marudhamalai Murugan shrine for all devotees.
