Helicopter services to Kedarnath Temple have been repeatedly suspended due to adverse weather conditions in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag region. Authorities prioritise passenger safety, halting flight operations whenever the weather turns unpredictable.

A large number of devotees travel seeking Baba Kedar’s blessings through heli services, but sudden weather changes in the Kedarnath valley, especially after noon, force temporary suspensions. Many pilgrims wait until the next day for services, while some stay overnight in Kedarnath.

Rudraprayag DM Vishal Mishra stated, “Weather in Kedarnath can turn bad at any time. Keeping pilgrims’ safety as the top priority, heli services are stopped as per guidelines. Operators have been instructed to help pilgrims and fulfill all basic facilities and needs so they can have darshan on time.”

Authorities advise devotees to remain patient, follow official updates regarding service resumption, and plan journeys considering weather conditions.

Separately, the Rudraprayag district administration intensified its cleanliness drive along the Kedarnath pilgrimage route, collecting around 25 tonnes of waste to maintain hygiene and ensure an eco-friendly yatra.

Sanitation workers continuously carry out cleaning operations from Gaurikund to Kedarnath Dham during the ongoing pilgrimage. Waste spread across the trekking route and temple premises is regularly collected and disposed of through scientific methods. Biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste is segregated separately, with plastic waste sent for recycling.

The campaign to keep Kedarnath Yatra clean and eco-friendly will continue throughout the pilgrimage season.

May Baba Kedar bless all devotees undertaking this sacred journey. Follow Dharmic News for Kedarnath Yatra updates.
