The Uttar Pradesh government has extended the tenure of the SIT probing the Ram temple donation embezzlement matter by 15 days.
The team was originally set up on June 13 and given 15 days to investigate the allegations. After submitting a preliminary report on June 23, the probe led to the filing of an FIR on June 25 and the arrest of eight accused.
The extension is meant to deepen the inquiry and widen its scope as officials continue examining the alleged diversion of temple donations in Ayodhya.
