Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has taken a major step toward expanding its spiritual footprint beyond Andhra Pradesh by approving the construction of a new temple in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The TTD Trust Board, during a meeting in Tirupati, cleared the takeover of 19.43 acres of land worth ₹388 crore at Kovaipudur, donated by the G Square Group’s “Seven Hills City” plotted development in Coimbatore, for the proposed temple.

The donated land will be merged with TTD’s assets, paving the way for the temple to become a major spiritual and cultural centre for devotees in western Tamil Nadu. The approval marks a significant expansion of TTD’s devotional infrastructure, enabling more South Indian and non‑resident devotees to access Balaji‑linked worship, rituals, and temple‑based services closer to home rather than depending solely on the Tirumala shrine.

Alongside the Coimbatore temple project, the TTD Trust Board greenlit several other initiatives, including the launch of the “Akshara Govindam” programme for children, aimed at teaching devotional chants and basic Sanskrit‑based learning the construction of a permanent yagasala at Alipiri, the expansion of educational infrastructure around the temple circuit, and the development of new TTD‑managed temples across India. Together, these decisions signal a concerted push to deepen religious education, ritual continuity, and physical access to Sanatana Dharma‑centred spaces for the next generation of Hindu devotees.
