Khalistanis Target Hindu Temples After Canada Hate Bill

Defiant protests rage outside sacred Hindu mandirs in Canada. Khalistani group Sikhs for Justice strikes just days after hate crime protections pass. Why do aggressors challenge Hindu places of worship now?

On April 5, SFJ organized rallies at Triveni Mandir in Brampton, Ontario, and Lakshmi Narayan Mandir in Surrey, British Columbia. Chanting “Khalistan Zindabad” under yellow flags, dozens gathered near temples despite Bill C-9’s passage on March 25. The bill criminalizes obstructing worship sites and hate symbols under the law.

Police enforced 100-metre safety zones and court orders to shield devotees. In Brampton, temple played music to drown out chants; in Surrey, Sikh officers kept protesters distant from premises. Hindu Canadian Foundation condemned the intimidation, noting past SFJ-linked violence, including assaults on worshippers.

Bill C-9 awaits Senate approval to ban hate protests at religious sites, welcomed by Hindus after repeated temple attacks. SFJ, banned as terrorists by India, frames opposition as resistance to “Hindutva terrorism.” Tensions trace to 2023 Nijjar killing allegations, later unsupported by RCMP evidence linking no Indian involvement.

Hindu devotees face fear during prayers, underscoring the urgent need for Bill C-9 enforcement. These acts violate Canada’s peace, targeting Sanatana Dharma spaces abroad.

Khalistani aggression tests global Hindu resolve, demanding firm protection for sacred mandirs everywhere.
