Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Uttarakhand-based Jyotirmath, has announced the launch of GO-LX, an online platform aimed at buying cows and preventing them from entering the slaughter chain.
The religious leader, currently undertaking a cow protection yatra across Uttar Pradesh that began earlier this month and will continue until July, said the website is being designed on the lines of online classified platforms. Livestock owners or traders intending to sell cows can post advertisements, while cow protection volunteers and interested buyers connect with sellers to arrange purchases.
The initiative enables Hindu cattle owners across the country to directly sell cows to buyers associated with cow protection efforts. Swami Avimukteshwaranand stated the website was expected to become operational within a day or two, emerging from suggestions made by Hindu community members committed to cow welfare.
He addressed claims being spread through social media and news outlets that if Muslims stopped buying cows or consuming beef, Hindu cattle farmers would face an economic crisis. “Such claims are being used to create confusion and division in society. Economic and social issues should be understood based on facts and real circumstances rather than viewed through a religious lens,” he said in Sultanpur.
Swami Avimukteshwaranand began the statewide cow protection march weeks after police in Prayagraj registered a case against him in February over allegations of molesting two minors. He has denied charges as false and politically motivated, claiming the complaint came after disputes with the Prayagraj district administration over alleged assaults on his followers during Mauni Amavasya bathing day.
This digital initiative strengthens Sanatana Dharma’s cow protection movement through technology.
