Kashi Vishwanath Dham has introduced an app‑based darshan system and tightened the rules for Mangala Aarti to curb middlemen and ensure fair access for genuine devotees.
Under the new arrangement, devotees booking services such as Sugam Darshan, Abhishek, or Aarti via the temple’s digital platform must register basic details, including Aadhaar, in a central system. The app‑based interface will help categorise devotees by region and language so that multilingual staff can guide them, while also strengthening security and crowd control around the Jyotirlinga.
Free darshan for the general public, as well as the special morning and evening slots for local Kashi residents, remains unchanged; the app system is initially being rolled out for those using paid or reservation‑based services rather than the normal free darshan lanes.
The Trust has revised the Mangala Aarti rules so that each devotee can attend the early‑morning ritual only once within 90 days. Any attempt to register for Mangala Aarti again within this 90‑day window will be automatically rejected by the system, effectively limiting repeat bookings by the same person and reducing the role of touts and ticket‑resale networks.
This move is intended to keep the sacred Mangala Aarti focused on sincere pilgrims, preserve the spiritual atmosphere around the Jyotirlinga, and make the arrangement more transparent and accessible through the digital‑first darshan framework.
