Gujarat Police arrested Panchabhai Koli and Javed Ghanchi for using Google Maps to target remote temples in the Kutch district, stealing jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh.

Ghanchi scanned maps for vulnerable Khodiyar Mata, Ramapir temples, breaking locks with coconut cutters. Multiple thefts, including Selari, were solved, recovering 14 silver umbrellas, a snake idol, and cash.

Duo nabbed en route to Radhanpur fence selling stolen goods. Three cases against Ghanchi, two against Koli, highlight tech-enabled sacrilege against Hindu worship sites.

Remote temples are easy targets for anti-social elements, and looting sacred offerings meant for Devi-Ram bhakti. Swift arrests recover bhaktas’ precious contributions.

Kutch temple thefts expose modern threats where Google Maps aids criminals targeting Hindu shrines, demanding advanced surveillance to protect the sanctity of sacred donations.
