The Telangana government has sanctioned an additional Rs 99.40 crore for the development of the Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy Temple at Vemulawada, taking the total allocation for the project to Rs 249.40 crore.
The renovation project includes expansion of the temple premises and creation of modern amenities to improve facilities for devotees. Temple authorities said about 45 per cent of the works have been completed so far. The newly sanctioned funds will be utilised to complete the remaining works, strengthen basic infrastructure and modernise the temple premises.
The state government, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has been undertaking the temple’s renovation and development in phases. It allocated Rs 50 crore during 2023-24 and released Rs 100 crore in 2024-25 before sanctioning the latest Rs 99.40 crore.
Vemulawada MLA and Government Whip Adi Srinivas welcomed the sanction and thanked Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Endowments Minister Konda Surekha and other ministers for their support in securing the funds.
