Sindhi body claims 200 kg silver handed to Champat Rai, but says no receipt has been issued yet from the Ram Mandir trust.
The Vishwa Sindhi Seva Sangam of Mumbai has alleged that it donated 200 kg of silver slabs to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, handed over to general secretary Champat Rai in Ayodhya on January 26, 2021, but never received a receipt or explanation on how the silver was used.
Dr Raju Manwani, chairman of the organisation, said the silver was donated by Sindhi community members living in more than 15 countries. He said the total value of the silver was around Rs 1.40 crore at that time. He added that the trust had promised to issue a receipt after checking purity, but nothing was received even after five years.
A separate allegation has also surfaced from Anita Bhardwaj, who said she donated a silver Kakabhushundi murti to Champat Rai in Karsevakpuram and was told a receipt would be sent later. She claims repeated follow-ups brought no response.
The report also says the roles of Champat Rai, Dr Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao are under scrutiny in the offerings theft case. Their recent participation in the Sheshavatar Temple flag-hoisting event has fuelled speculation that they may receive a clean chit, though that has not been officially confirmed.
This fresh round of allegations has deepened the controversy around temple offerings, receipts, and accountability at the Ram Mandir complex.
