The Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam in Simhachalam, Visakhapatnam, is set to go 100% cashless soon, beginning selective rituals and sevas through digital services for devotees.

In a statement on May 25, 2026, Executive Officer Jallepalli Venkata Rao urged pilgrims to use new digital services for a smoother visit. To cut waiting times, the Devasthanam has put booking of darshan, prasadam, and arjitha seva tickets on several digital platforms.

The Executive Officer highlighted mobile phone deposit counters, advising pilgrims to complete bookings of all services and buy darshan tickets before depositing devices at mobile phone counters. The temple administration has placed QR codes throughout the temple complex. Devotees can scan them to make payments for various services.

Mr. Venkata Rao appealed to devotees to cooperate with temple staff during the transition and use the cashless facilities provided.

Devotees can access cashless facilities through four main channels: the official Devasthanam website for booking of darshan and accommodation; the ‘Manamitra’ mobile app for ticketing, updates, and digital payments; on-site self-service kiosks across the temple for ticket vending; and QR code points at major counters for payments.

This digital transformation modernizes temple services while maintaining sacred traditions at this revered Vishnu temple.

Simhachalam Temple’s cashless initiative sets an example for Hindu temples embracing technology for devotee convenience.
