The sacred Sabarimala temple will open its doors tomorrow, September 16, for the five-day monthly pooja marking the Malayalam month of Kanni. At 5 pm, Melsanthi Arunkumar Nampoothiri will open the sreekovil in the divine presence of thantri Kandararu Mahesh Mohanaru.

Darshan during this period will be permitted only for devotees with online passes. However, those holding spot passes from Nilakkal and Pampa counters will also be allowed entry. The temple authorities have ensured clear guidelines to manage the flow of pilgrims and preserve the sanctity of rituals.

Among the important offerings during the Kanni pooja are Sahasrakalasam and Kalabhabhishekam. On the opening day, Kalabhabhishekam will be performed with deep devotion. In the following days, Udayasthamana pooja, Ashtabhishekam, Pushpabhishekam, and Padi pooja will add to the spiritual grandeur of the observances.

Sabarimala, the hill shrine dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, continues to draw countless devotees who make the arduous journey with faith and discipline. Each monthly pooja is not just a ritual but an opportunity for seekers to reconnect with Lord Ayyappa’s eternal message of dharma, devotion, and self-restraint.

The temple will close after the rituals on September 21.
