A video from Karnataka has captured hearts across India. Students of Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology performed Bharatnatyam to the powerful verses of the Hanuman Chalisa, even as rain poured down around them.
The clip, shared on Instagram by Prarthana Rao, has now crossed 4.8 million views. It shows a group of young dancers gracefully moving through the intricate steps of Bharatnatyam inside a corridor, refusing to let the weather interrupt their devotion or their art. The caption reads, “POV: Rain can’t stop your team from performing,” and truly, it could not.
Prarthana added her own note: “When Indradev has plans, but you don’t stop dancing.” The dedication and spirit of the dancers resonated with viewers across the country. Comments flooded in praising their energy, balance, and the sheer beauty of seeing Hanuman Chalisa come alive through classical dance.
One moment that stood out to many was the presence of a male dancer in the group. For some, it was inspiring to see a young man embracing Bharatnatyam with such grace and confidence, breaking stereotypes.
Rain, devotion, and dance blended seamlessly that day. And the internet could not stop watching.
