President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit the sacred Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa Temple on October 22, marking the final day of the Thulamasa Pooja darshan. The visit, part of her official tour of Kerala, holds deep spiritual significance for devotees.
Kerala Devaswom Minister V N Vasavan confirmed that the state government has been officially informed, and extensive arrangements are being made to ensure a smooth and secure visit. President Murmu will offer prayers at the hill shrine in the evening before returning to Thiruvananthapuram later the same day.
The Sabarimala temple, located deep within the Periyar Tiger Reserve forests, opens for pilgrims only on specific occasions each month. For Thulamasa Pooja, the temple remains open from October 18 to 22, allowing devotees to seek Lord Ayyappa’s blessings.
During her Kerala visit, the President will also attend the platinum jubilee celebrations of St. Thomas College in Pala, an institution renowned for its academic excellence.
President Murmu’s visit to Sabarimala is historic, as she is the first woman from the tribal community to become President of India. Her presence at one of Hinduism’s most revered pilgrimage sites adds special significance to the occasion, inspiring devotion among countless devotees across the country.
