Karnataka temples face challenges preparing prasada due to commercial LPG cylinder shortage. Around 15 major Muzrai temples are impacted across the state.

Bengaluru’s Banashankari Temple serves 3,000-5,000 devotees daily, rising to 10,000 on Tuesdays and Fridays. Uses 1-2 cylinders daily for pongal, puliyogare, and anna sambar prasada.

Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy instructed temple committees to ensure prasada distribution continues. No decision yet on reducing fuel use or alternative cooking methods.

Banashankari kitchen manager Devraj says they face difficulties but will arrange solutions. Some devotees bring personal cylinders to help with temple cooking.

Shortage affects hotels and eateries statewide. Temples are preparing backup plans, including wooden logs, to maintain prasada service for devotees.

Minister is monitoring developments closely. Will review further before major decisions. Priority remains ensuring devotees receive temple prasada without interruption.
