TTD’s Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple celebrated grand Rathotsavam marking the penultimate day of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams in Tirupati.
Lord Kodandarama, Sita, and Lakshmana murtis mounted on a flower-decked ratham rolled through temple streets from 8:30 a.m. Bhaktas chanted Rama Nama, hurling rock salt and pepper per ancient tradition.
Women offered harathi at every step. Bhajan troupes performed Kolatam folk dances ahead of the chariot. Nalayira Divya Prabandham Tamil verses and Vedic Sathumora chants concluded with the final harathi.
Lord Rama, as a valorous emperor, paraded on horse vahana circling the temple. Final Chakra Snanam awaits March 25 at Kapila Theertham pond from 9 a.m., marking Brahmotsava conclusion.
Tirupati’s Kodandarama Rathotsavam showcases living Rama bhakti where devotees physically pull the divine chariot, strengthening the eternal Sanatan connection to Sita-Rama-Lakshmana through sacred Tirumala traditions.
