Devotees throng Shree Subramanyeshwara Swamy Temple at Siddalingapura on Subramanya Shasthi. Thousands of pilgrims from Mysuru, Mandya, and neighbouring villages visited the shrine on the Mysuru-Bengaluru Highway on Wednesday. The temple was specially decorated for the occasion, with doors opened in the early hours after Shasthi rituals were performed. Devotees offered prayers and performed puja to anthills in nearby areas, a traditional practice associated with Lord Subramanya.

This was the first jathra after the temple’s recent renovation, resulting in a larger-than-usual turnout. In previous years, celebrations were limited to the temple premises due to ongoing renovation work. The completion of restoration allowed the festival to be celebrated with full grandeur, drawing more devotees eager to witness the renewed shrine and participate in sacred rituals.

Traffic on the temple road was diverted to facilitate smooth movement of pilgrims. Police were deployed for crowd and traffic management, ensuring the safety and comfort of devotees throughout the day. The jathra reflected the deep devotion of the local Hindu community and the significance of Subramanya Shasthi in Sanatana Dharma traditions.

When temples are restored and festivals celebrated with devotion, faith flourishes. Subramanya Shasthi reminds Hindus of the victory of dharma and the eternal protection of Lord Subramanya.
