The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has said all donated valuables are safe, and that its records are in order.
Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri said the Trust holds over 30 kg of gold-like items and 1,518 kg of silver-like items, along with a total of 2,926 valuable donated articles. He said every item has been entered in the inventory with donor details, donation date, and supporting records. He also said annual physical verification is carried out by an independent chartered accountant firm.
The Trust displayed several offerings before the media in Ayodhya, including a gold Ramcharitmanas, a diamond-studded necklace, a silver charan paduka, and a silver Kakbhushundi artefact. The Trust said some items that had been the subject of speculation were safely in its custody.
It also said silver articles sent for refining were processed through the Government of India mint, with photographs, weight records, and purity certificates maintained. The Trust added that anyone with proof of wrongdoing should submit it to the SIT instead of spreading unverified claims.
The statement comes amid the wider Ram temple donation controversy, in which the SIT has already arrested eight accused. The Trust has also accepted the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra and appointed Krishna Mohan as interim general secretary.
