60 kg of silver bars missing from Ram temple donation records deepens probe into alleged embezzlement at Ayodhya shrine, with SIT trying to trace silver bars donated during Pran Pratishtha consecration ceremony.

Silver bars reportedly offered to Ram Lalla during consecration and intended for the temple’s foundation. For the past six days, SIT has attempted to gather documentation and verify the current status, but officials have yet to establish a clear trail or determine what happened.

Investigators were unable to trace records detailing the receipt, storage, or use of silver bars. Jewellers Association maintains it possesses a receipt confirming handover to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

Anurag Rastogi, president of the association, said 60 kg silver bars were prepared with contributions from jewellers across the country and donated to the temple. Bars not seen during foundation-laying rituals or later construction work subsequently went missing.

SIT is attempting to determine where silver bars are and whether recorded in official inventories. Officials questioned Ramshankar Yadav alias Tinnu, Krishnadev Tiwari, and four priests associated with Ram Lalla.

Tiwari, who oversees jewellery and offerings, reportedly denied knowledge of silver bars, a missing necklace, and charan paduka, also under scrutiny.

A three-member SIT team comprising Lucknow Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, IG Kiran S, and Special Secretary Neelratan Kumar reviewed the case, examined the sequence of events surrounding the handling of donations and valuables.

Inquiry stems from allegations that gold, silver, and diamond ornaments were replaced with fake items, and cash donations were siphoned off. Controversy erupted on June 7 when Akhilesh Yadav alleged donations worth crores were missing, and urged courts to take cognisance.

The UP government constituted a three-member SIT on June 13 following a trust request. CM Yogi Adityanath visited Ayodhya, defended the probe, and said SIT will establish the truth and separate facts from falsehood.
