Delhi’s Uttam Nagar saw tension rise after 26-year-old Tarun died from injuries in a Holi clash between two families from different communities. Vehicles were set on fire and roads blocked during protests.
The fight began on Wednesday when coloured water from a balloon splashed on a woman. The argument turned violent. Tarun suffered serious head injuries and died during treatment. Several others also got hurt.
Bajrang Dal and VHP supporters blocked the road under the Uttam Nagar East Metro station. They raised slogans demanding strict action. Heavy traffic jams formed. Police used mild force to clear protesters.
A car and motorcycle parked in JJ Colony were set ablaze on Friday afternoon. Fire services controlled the blaze quickly. No injuries reported. Police are investigating who started the fire.
Dwarka police arrested four adults and caught one juvenile linked to Tarun’s death. FIR registered. Heavy police and paramilitary deployed. Drones monitoring crowds. Security remains tight.
