Temple bombed in Bangladesh; 2 Hindus murdered: Rights group flags attacks on minorities

Two Hindu men were killed in separate incidents in Bogura and Cox’s Bazar on March 6-7. Priest and four others injured in crude bomb blast at Cumilla temple during Shani Dev puja.

March 7 attack at Kaligach Tala Kali Mandir in Cumilla city. A masked man left a bag inside the temple before the explosion during evening prayers. CCTV captured the suspect entering the premises.

Chayon Rajbhar (40) was murdered in Sariakandi, Bogura, over a land dispute. Ganesh Pal (29) was stabbed to death in Cox’s Bazar for refusing extortion money. Both within 24 hours.

Bangladesh Jatio Hindu Mohajote calls for strict punishment, financial aid to victims’ families, and a zero-tolerance policy. Says attacks continue despite the BNP government formation.

Cumilla police confirm three injured, including priest Keshob Chakraborty, who received hospital treatment. Bomb disposal team called to the site. Additional blasts near a Buddhist temple were reported.

Violence against Hindus continues in Bangladesh, raising serious security concerns for the minority community despite the recent change in political leadership after the BNP election victory.
