Jagannath Dham authorities accuse ISKCON of deliberate tradition violations. PM Modi informed that legal action looms over deviant festival dates. Why fracture Lord Jagannath’s sacred tithi calendar?

Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb chaired the Aikya Sthapana Mandali meeting, condemning ISKCON’s “off-calendar” Rath Yatra and Snan Yatra celebrations worldwide. Despite the October 2025 Mayapur assurance to align with scriptural dates, ISKCON conducted deviant events at 79 Rath Yatra locations and 10 Snan Yatras.

Deb revealed PM Modi apprised of century-old tradition breaches hurting millions of devotees. Authorities plan External Affairs and Culture Ministry intervention, plus a fresh Mayapur letter. 2026-27 Puri calendar released, starting Mahavisuva Sankranti April 14, urging global temples to honor key tithis.

Scriptures mandate Snan Yatra on Jyeshtha Purnima and Rath Yatra on Ashadha Shukla Dwitiya within a seven-day window only. Deb questioned altering Lord’s “birth date” like changing Rama, Krishna, Jesus, or the Prophet’s birthdays. Puri remains the sole authority for the authentic Jagannath sampradaya, preserving the 12th-century Odisha Hindu tradition.

Devotee confusion multiplies when global ISKCON dates contradict scriptural mandates, diluting Sanatana Dharma’s ritual purity.
