Mangala Aarti was performed at the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura on Friday, September 4, marking the beginning of Janmashtami celebrations at the birthplace of Lord Krishna.
Devotees from across the country thronged the historic temple from early morning to participate in the sacred Mangala Aarti and special prayers. The temple premises witnessed a particularly devotional atmosphere as people joined in rituals, prayers and devotional dances expressing their reverence for Lord Krishna.
The ancient temple, believed to be the exact spot where Lord Krishna was born over 5,000 years ago, was decorated with flowers, lights and traditional rangoli designs for the occasion. Special annadanam and prasad distribution were arranged for devotees throughout the day.
Mathura, along with Vrindavan, is witnessing elaborate religious programmes and massive gatherings of devotees for the festival. Extensive security arrangements have been made in view of the huge crowd coming from across India and abroad.
