Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Limited has secured a major EPC contract worth Rs 888.38 crore from the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation for the construction and overall development of Shree Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra at Punauradham in Sitamarhi district, believed to be the birthplace of Mata Sita. The project will be executed over 42 months under the engineering, procurement, and construction mode, involving comprehensive civil construction works.
Punauradham in Sitamarhi is revered as the birthplace of Mata Sita, and this development project is expected to enhance tourism infrastructure and promote the cultural and spiritual significance of the region while providing modern facilities for pilgrims and visitors. The contract is entirely domestic, with no related party or promoter involvement.
Ahluwalia Contracts is a leading integrated construction company with over 50 years of experience, known for executing large-scale infrastructure projects, including hospitals, IT parks, metro stations, hotels, commercial complexes, and institutional buildings for both public and private sector clients. The company reported a strong unexecuted order book of Rs 18,057 crore as of September 2025, providing revenue visibility for the next two and a half years.
Following the announcement, Ahluwalia Contracts shares rallied sharply, jumping over 7 per cent in intraday trade, with the stock touching an intraday high of Rs 1,025 on the NSE. This order adds to the company’s expanding portfolio of landmark heritage and infrastructure development projects across India.
