Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday offered prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala during his visit to Andhra Pradesh.
Though entitled to enter through the Mahadwaram, the UP CM chose to enter the hill temple through the Vaikuntam Queue Complex like a common devotee. TTD Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary and Board member G Bhanu Prakash Reddy led him into the sanctum sanctorum, where he offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara.
After the darshan, priests presented him with Theertha Prasadams and a photo memento of Lord Balaji at the Ranganayakula Mandapam. He also had darshan of the Utsava deities of Sri Sita Lakshmana sameta Sri Ramachandra Swamy on the occasion of Punarvasu Nakshatram, a tradition established by Saint Sri Ramanujacharya over 1,000 years ago.
Speaking inside the temple, Yogi said he prayed for the prosperity of Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and the entire country. He praised the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust for spearheading the propagation of Sanatana Dharma and for making impeccable arrangements for devotees from across the globe.
Recalling the role of Jagadguru Ramanujacharya in spiritually connecting northern and southern India centuries ago, he described Tirumala as a spiritually vibrant abode of Shri Hari Vishnu.
