A major step has been taken in Andhra Pradesh to improve access to sacred Hindu temples across rural regions.
The state government has launched a large-scale initiative to connect over 100 important temples and pilgrimage centres through 205 kilometres of roads, with an investment of Rs 120 crore. The effort aims to ensure that devotees can reach temples safely and without hardship.
Under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, officials have been directed to prioritise temple connectivity after repeated concerns from devotees about poor road conditions. The works are being executed through the Panchayat Raj Department using multiple funding sources.
So far, 26 roads have been completed and are ready for inauguration. Work on several others is progressing steadily. These include key pilgrimage routes to temples such as Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at Antarvedi, Ahobilam, Talupulamma Lova, and Sri Anjaneya Swamy temples in different regions.
Authorities have also been instructed to maintain strict quality standards so that these roads provide long term benefits to devotees.
Better roads mean easier access to darshan. They also strengthen local economies and preserve the living traditions of Sanatana Dharma.
Connecting temples is not just development. It is a service to faith.
