After the Ayodhya Ram Mandir donation row, similar allegations at Badrinath Temple have now triggered an official probe.
The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has ordered an inquiry into claims related to offerings received at Badrinath Dham. The committee said the allegations circulating on social media were serious enough to require a formal investigation, and explanations have been sought from the employees concerned. Officials said CCTV footage, evidence, and statements will be examined, and any proven wrongdoing will invite legal and departmental action.
The committee has also ordered heightened vigilance across donation counting centres, accounts branches, treasury sections, guest houses, and puja counters at Badrinath, Kedarnath, and other temples under its control. The move shows how temple donation management is coming under sharper scrutiny after the Ayodhya controversy.
At the same time, BJP leader Vinay Katiyar said he had spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the Ram Mandir donation case and claimed the Prime Minister had expressed concern. He also said that those named in the controversy could face jail if found guilty.
