BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who has won both the Bhabanipur and Nandigram seats, has claimed that his victory in Nandigram came through the support of the Hindu community, while accusing the TMC of being left with only Muslim votes in the constituency.

Speaking after the results, he said he won the election this time by “almost ten thousand votes,” attributing his win largely to Hindu voters and vowing that he will work specifically for the Hindus of Nandigram.

Adhikari alleged that, in Nandigram, “the entire Muslim vote went to TMC,” a remark that sharply frames the contest along religious lines and reinforces the BJP’s narrative of Hindu consolidation in West Bengal politics.

He lashed out at the Trinamool Congress, calling it a “corrupt, family‑oriented” outfit with “no ideology,” and declared that the party would be “finished” within 24 hours, suggesting a rapid political collapse across the state.

At the same time, Adhikari has tied his agenda to the BJP’s national leadership, asserting that the work he will undertake in Bengal will be in line with the commitments laid out in the BJP manifesto by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and repeatedly guaranteed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He has promised that these promises will now be implemented, positioning his twin‑seat victory as a mandate not just for local governance but also for the nationwide BJP–Modi agenda in West Bengal.
