The Hindu side attended the special Lok Adalat in Mathura in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah dispute and proposed relocating the mosque to an alternative site if the other side agrees to withdraw its claim.
The proceedings were held under the Supreme Court’s Samadhan Samaroh-2026 initiative. According to the Hindu litigants, no representative from the Muslim side was present. The Hindu side said it argued for around 30 minutes, submitted historical material, and completed the required paperwork before the bench.
Advocate Mahendra Pratap Singh said the proposal was that if the Muslim side agreed to remove the structure from the disputed site, land elsewhere could be considered for a mosque. Other Hindu litigants reiterated that the disputed land is the birthplace of Lord Krishna and said modern technology could make relocation possible.
The matter may now move to the special Lok Adalat scheduled in the Supreme Court on August 21, 22, and 23 if no settlement is reached at the local level.
