Temple authorities have stated that the restriction follows a Madras High Court order aimed at preserving the sanctity of temple premises. Devotees are required to deposit their phones at counters before entering, a step taken to prevent distractions and maintain discipline during darshan.
While some young visitors have expressed hesitation, saying the experience feels incomplete without capturing photos or videos, officials maintain that temples are spaces of devotion, not social media content creation.
