Serious concerns have been raised over the safety of temple assets in Andhra Pradesh following a troubling incident.
YSRCP leader and former MLA Malladi Vishnu has accused the state government of failing to safeguard Hindu temples after the reported disappearance of the sacred Mangalsutram of Goddess Bhramaramba from the Pedakakani Malleswara Swamy Temple.
Speaking to the media, he questioned how such a valuable and sacred ornament could go missing from a temple. He called for a thorough investigation and raised concerns about the functioning of the Endowments Department and the existing security systems in place.
According to his statements, there are also questions about whether CCTV surveillance was operational at the time and whether authorities acted promptly after the incident came to light. He further alleged that priests were questioned late at night while administrative lapses may not have been addressed with equal seriousness.
He also pointed to similar alleged incidents involving missing valuables and irregularities in temple hundi management at other prominent temples, including Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada.
These claims remain allegations and are part of an ongoing issue that demands proper investigation.
Temples are sacred spaces of Sanatana Dharma. Their wealth and offerings belong to Bhagwan and the devotees.
