The Faizabad Bar Association has resolved not to defend the eight accused in the alleged Ram temple donation embezzlement case and has warned members of a Rs 5 lakh penalty if they do.

The lawyers said their sentiments were hurt by the alleged theft of temple offerings. They also resolved to seek a case against Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, and Gopal Rao, and demanded that the three leave Ayodhya within three days.

The move marks a sharp escalation in the legal and public response to the donation theft controversy.
