Thieves stole cash and offerings made by devotees from the hundi of Aranmanai Sandhana Karuppusamy Temple in Natham on Friday.
According to the police, temple priest Mari had locked the temple premises before leaving. Burglars broke open the temple locks using tools and stole the cash and other offerings from the hundial.
When Mari arrived early in the morning to open the temple, he discovered that the locks were broken and cash and offerings from the huddial were missing. He lodged a complaint with the Natham police.
Natham police visited the temple for an inquiry. Investigation is underway.
This theft of devotees’ offerings from the temple hundi is a serious violation of trust and sacrilege against the sacred Aranmanai Sandhana Karuppusamy Temple.
